There are many reasons people choose to contact Citizens Advice Mid Mercia and there are many issues we can support you with. The following projects are currently running:
General Advice
Advice and guidance on a range of different issues for anyone living in Derby City, South Derbyshire, Burton, Tamworth and Uttoxeter.
We can support you with problems such as debt and money, benefit entitlement, benefit claims, family, Law and courts, immigration, housing, and health issues
One Advocacy
We provide 6 types of task specific advocacy, both statutory and non-statutory, as well as non-instructed advocacy within Derby City and, some other areas where Derby City are funding peoples care and support (within a 30-mile radius of Derby City).
Tamworth Advice Centre
The debt and general advice service is based at Marmion House in Lichfield Street, renamed Tamworth Advice Centre and provided by Citizens Advice Mid Mercia
EU Settlement Scheme
We are providing practical support to vulnerable EU, EEA and Swiss citizens (and their non – EU family members) through information-giving, advice and provision of technology and assistance to help them make a scheme application by the 30th June 2021. Call us now on 01827 909101
Money & Debt
Money Advice Service
Our team of debt advisers are able to explore all of your options and give you confidential and impartial advice – from negotiating with your creditors, setting up payment plans, applying for trust funds and even some that you might not have heard of before.
Money Sorted in D2N2
Money Sorted in D2N2 provides confidential one to one tailored support for people experiencing financial difficulty. It enables individuals to take control, build their confidence, learn new skills and help them tackle problems to improve their financial well-being.
Help to Claim
Support in the early stages of Universal Credit claim, from the initial application, through to first payment.
Placed Based Approach
Our Placed Based Approach service funded by Staffordshire County Council aims to help families who are in debt and meet specific criteria.
We will help you to deal with any initial crisis such as bailiff action, eviction or council tax arrears and support you to create a financial statement to negotiate affordable payments with people you may owe money to.
Food Parcels
Citizens Advice Mid Mercia works alongside CVS food bank in South Derbyshire. We can provide holistic advice to the residents of South Derbyshire and we can make a referral to CVS for you to collect an emergency food parcel.
Homelessness Support
The Worth Project (Homelessness Support) is about helping people who are homeless and supporting them with any additional issues they may have.

Universal Services for Carers
Autism Information and Advice
The Autism Information and Advice Service provides free information and advice to Derbyshire County’s Autistic Community
Multiple Sclerosis Support
In partnership with the Burton on Trent’s MS Society, we provide a benefit advice service, in local advice offices or if necessary, in people’s own homes specifically for individuals living with MS.
An adviser will assist all eligible individuals with filling in forms and completing benefit appeals and mandatory reconsiderations.
To access this service, you need to have a diagnosis of MS and live in South Derbyshire or the Burton on Trent area.

Living with a Long Term Condition
a FREE six-week programme which is delivered one day a week for 2.5 hours. It aims to support people with a long- term health or medical condition, to maintain their health and improve their quality of life.
Cancer Support
We deliver holistic advice, complete home visits to vulnerable clients who need extra support owing to the impact of cancer on their lives, and support carers caring for someone living with cancer.
Skills & Training
Digital Education and Learning
Our digital online support team is specially designed to support you in all your ‘’online’’ needs. The service also focuses on supporting those who require support in becoming digitally competent.
We are able to support clients living within Derby City, South Derbyshire and East Staffordshire.
Gambling Support Service
The aim of the Gambling Support Service is to reduce harmful gambling across the East Midlands within the most vulnerable communities.
Outreach
GP Outreach
Provides weekly outreach advice and information services in GP surgeries and other centres throughout South Derbyshire.
You can get help with a wide range of issues, including benefits, debt and money, employment, housing, immigration, family, law and courts and health enquirieson.
Support in Winshill
Generalist advice service to residents of Winshill, Burton-Upon-Trent, Staffordshire
